Role of the Owner's Rep - Debra Inwald

We look down the road, keeping an eye out for boulders and move them before they become roadblocks. The Owner’s Representative looks at a project in the round, from all points of view. We add value for both the architect and the owner by assisting the owner in clarifying and visualizing their program, avoiding time consuming redesigns by the architect. The Owner’s Rep looks at the project with the owner’s desires, purse strings, and future use in mind. We aid in the communication process, often sitting with the major stakeholders, including the board of directors, to interpret and explain. We help each client find what they want and what they need - and to know the difference. We guide them through the intricacies of a very complex process, which is outside their mission, to the successful completion of the project. For Nonprofits, WPA’s ability to analyze and order needs adds credibility to a project and can actually assist with getting a project funded. Our involvement sends the message that the organization is serious and committed and that they will spend the resources involved appropriately and conservatively. Our involvement as the Owner’s Rep saves the organization time, effort, and money. |
