Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) was founded in 1994 to provide comprehensive Owner’s Representative and Construction Management Services for both public, private and nonprofit entities.  WPA works closely with clients in a comprehensive team and strives to build consensus among all stakeholders to create a solid structure for effective decision making and project execution.  Our services include project team assembly, contract negotiation and administration, procurement, design evaluation, design and technical review, construction supervision, project phasing, inspections, project close-out, strategic planning, community outreach, agency liaison, and quality assurance/quality control.

 

WPA has been instrumental in bringing over 170 educational, arts, social service, healthcare, community development, and cultural projects to completion in the last 20 years.  WPA’s staff is comprised of dedicated and uniquely qualified project managers including registered architects and engineers, project and construction managers, inspectors, cost estimators, office engineers, LEED accredited professionals, and sustainable design experts.

Debra Inwald AIA,LEED AP - FOUNDER

Debra Inwald is a licensed architect and received her Masters in Architecture from Columbia University and a B.S. in Architecture and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan.  She has worked at nationally acclaimed architectural design firms and in the public sector at the Division of Design and Construction for the City of New York.  Ms. Inwald has taught architecture at Columbia University and to children at the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning.  She has sat on various boards throughout the city and is a common guest lecturer to nonprofit organizations undergoing capital development projects.
